But well, here we are for another week. In addition to presenting you the new products of these weeks (the new Garmin Edge 1030 Plus and Garmin Edge 130 Plus), we continue to answer your questions. Some of the questions that were left pending in the last episode, plus the new ones that have come in for this one.

Remember that if you want us to answer any questions, either about training or any function of your training device, podéis let us know. through the web form.

What does today's program include? We talk about running techniqueWe will also provide information about its importance and the exercises that we can use to improve our running economy and running style.

Also about the function of Performance Condition in one of the watches of Garmin. It is a function that sometimes generates doubts, not only because of the algorithm itself but also sometimes because of the translations that Garmin has chosen.

We lightly touch the improvement of lactate threshold and the VO2Max increase through small sprints at the end of our training, and we will talk about the training of recovery in Z1 and Z2.

In reference to the Performance Condition function of Garmin, here is a table about the different messages that pod can display on the watch at the end of a workout and what they may mean.

Performance condition messages in GarminYou must not forget that to get to that data, which is an algorithm, it comes from other algorithms. Therefore we are adding algorithms (and their errors). The most important thing is your feelings and your training plan.

To arrive at these messages we start from two different metrics.

Exercisewith the watch set to Fitness, the translation is not very informative. It analyzes whether your overall fitness is increasing, maintained or decreasing. It does not refer to the last workout, but combined with the last workouts. This metric looks at the improvement in performance and VO2Max data.

CargoHere we do have a correct translation that gives us all the information we are looking for, it is the volume of the training.

The messages it provides therefore depend on the trend we are having in load and intensity, but they are not always a true reflection of reality, because it has no context.

You mentioned in the episode some metrics that you use as a data field, 1TP10Could you share what they are? I think you talked about intensity of effort? Normalized power?
    Thank you

    1. Thank you!

About screen configuration, I have an article about the configuration I use for competitions, it doesn't differ much from my training profile. You can take a look at it here.
